Weekly DeFlock Morgantown Protests
MICA stands firmly against FLOCK cameras and encourages our County Commissioners to cancel their contract with Flock immediately. Statistics show that less than one percent of cars scanned by such cameras are connected to any crime; therefore, we do not see the utility of having them in our area. Some cities have discovered that, despite thinking they had turned off out-of-state data sharing, Flock was still enabling access to law enforcement agencies across the country. That, along with the ambiguity of how data is used by the Flock company, means our community is rightfully concerned. We deserve more transparency and information from experts not associated with FLOCK to inform the public about what information is being collected and how that information is being used in Monongalia County and beyond.
We are also encouraging members to attend and speak at County Commission if you can, email the County Commission at info@monongaliacounty.gov in opposition, and submit letters to the editor as we begin to build a campaign for more transparency and protection of our Fourth Amendment rights.

Mountaineers Indivisible Citizen Action is a grassroots citizen organization based in Morgantown, West Virginia. We are dedicated to protecting and strengthening our democratic institutions and actively defending our Constitution.
As part of the national Indivisible network, we stand united with thousands of similar groups across the country committed to upholding constitutional principles and democratic values at a time when they face significant challenges. Our members come from diverse political backgrounds but share a common commitment to preserving the democratic foundations that our nation depends upon.
Mountaineers Indivisible Citizen Action is a chapter of the West Virginia Citizen Action Group and a part of the national People’s Action network.

Our Mission
Our mission is to safeguard democratic principles and institutions through organized citizen action, informed advocacy, and community engagement. We believe that democracy requires vigilant protection and active participation from all citizens.
What We Do
What We Do
As a nonviolent resistance group, we:
Advocate for Accountability: We contact elected officials at all levels of government, advocating for transparency, adherence to constitutional principles, and equitable policies that benefit all people, not just the privileged few.
Organize Community Actions: We coordinate peaceful demonstrations, town halls, and community forums to hold our elected officials accountable, protect our democracy, and amplify citizen voices. We use the resistance tactics advocated by Indivisible and Gene Sharp's 198 Methods of Nonviolent Action.
Promote Civic Engagement: We encourage voting, participation in local government, and broader civic involvement to elect better leaders who serve the needs of all people.
Provide Community and Hope: We provide mutual support for one another in the face of the havoc perpetrated by anti-democratic forces in our state and country.
We take action when something violates our principles; when a political response can contribute to discourse or policy change, and when there are seven or more members ready to participate in executing an action. Among our other goals, we aim to build our power by bringing more people into our movement.
